A New Chapter for Inclusion: Rebranding It’s Your Outcome for a More Equitable Future
Author: April Ogden, Founder, and CEO, It’s Your Outcome
April Ogden empowers diverse professionals to own their career outcomes and consults organizations on the benefits of inclusive hiring and organizational development. Her mission is to create a more equitable and empowering workplace for all.
Introduction: My Intersectional Journey
I’ve worked at some amazing companies, but as a woman of color with a diverse ability, I faced challenges moving up the leadership ladder. It often felt like high school during my career – unsure of where I fit in. So, I decided to build an intersectional table, bringing diverse communities together. As the founder and CEO of “It’s Your Outcome (IYO)”, my mission is to create inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.
Rebranding with a Focus on Inclusion
As an advocate for inclusion, equity, and diversity, I have rebranded my approach to focus more deeply on the systemic obstacle’s professionals with diverse and intersecting identities face in the workplace.
Customized Solutions at “It’s Your Outcome” (IYO)
I create solutions and tools to solve organizations’ biggest DEI challenges. At my firm, “It’s Your Outcome,” we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach – instead, we customize training, workshops, and consulting to fit each organization’s unique needs and goals for driving meaningful change.
My Qualifications and Experience
I hold a Master of Science in Vocational Counseling and am a Certified Career Development Facilitator. With over 15 years of experience, I have coached over 4,000 professionals to achieve their career goals and trained 1000+ organizations on implementing inclusive practices.
Guiding Principles and Goals
On my website and through new blog content, I share guiding principles on topics like inclusive hiring, mitigating bias, increasing accessibility, and cultivating diversity, to name a few. My goal is to provide the tools needed so all can thrive.
Recent Trends and the Urgent Need for Inclusive Cultures
Recent trends show an urgent need for inclusive cultures. An EEOC press release predicts diverse ability discrimination claims will continue rising based on current trends (2023). A Forbes article cited studies showing hiring discrimination persists against those with diverse abilities, including minorities (2023). And a Disability: IN survey found 80% said diverse ability inclusion had stayed the same or gotten worse in their workplaces over the past year
Vision and Offerings
My vision is to transform organizations through an intersectional lens. Now is the time for organizations to take their DEI plans one step further by joining me as a corporate partner. I offer training, workshops, and consulting to drive meaningful change. Plus, you’re getting exclusive benefits you can’t find with any other consulting firm.
Inclusive Career Coaching at IYO
I also hope diverse professionals will connect with me for inclusive career coaching. At IYO, we proudly offer one of the first fully inclusive coaching services dedicated to empowering all identities and career stages.
A Personal Story: Discovering and Branding Success with It’s Your Outcome
Nina, a diverse professional, once felt lost in the corporate world. That’s when “It’s Your Outcome” stepped in. Through our personalized coaching sessions, we helped Nina discover her unique story, identify her strengths, and develop strategies to overcome barriers.
But we went beyond simple coaching. At “It’s Your Outcome,” we branded Nina’s story, integrating it into every phase of her career development. We collaborated with a company committed to inclusive hiring, creating opportunities that resonated with Nina’s abilities and aspirations.
Today, Nina is thriving in a leadership role, and her success story is a living testament to the power of inclusive coaching and personal branding. Her journey with “It’s Your Outcome” illustrates how understanding and embracing one’s story can lead to empowerment and success in the workplace. By working together, we bridged the gap between diverse leaders and the people they serve, creating a more inclusive and compassionate corporate landscape.
Conclusion: Building Stronger, Fairer Workplaces
Let’s build a table where our differences make us stronger. My goal is to continue this work for years to come – pushing organizations and individuals towards more diverse, equitable, and inclusive futures.
There are many consultants in this space, but few take an intersectional, identity-first approach or offer the customized solutions centered around measurable change. Even fewer have walked the path themselves. I bring these differentiated assets – my lived journey, adaptability, and commitment to real progress through an inclusive lens. If this speaks to your goals, reach out – let’s build stronger, fairer workplaces together.
