Diversity begins by actively pursuing diverse talent.
At least 43% of companies saw an increase in profits by diversifying their boardrooms according to McKinsey & Company.
We have compiled a shortlist for executive leaders to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Actively seek diverse talent by advertising your company’s openings on various diversity job boards. Examples of diverse job boards are Diversity Working, recruit disability, and Black Tech Jobs, which are just a few to name.
- Highlight your diversity initiatives on your company’s website. Prospective applicants will want to research your company and learn all about what diversity moves you’re making.
- Ensure your company’s diversity statement is added to your company’s career page. Take time to announce this on each job announcement to remind prospective candidates of your commitment to diversity.
- Offer opportunities for diverse internships and scholarships to your underrepresented employees. Providing internal internships and scholarships will support advancement within key roles throughout the organization.
- Provide diversity training to executive team members and other staff. Diversity training will help staff to identify areas in need of improvement.
- Create meaningful cultural and sensitivity training for your organization. Create an environment where staff has the opportunity to participate in cultural and sensitivity training to develop and/or enhance emotional intelligence.
- Develop and/or amend company workplace policies and practices that promote inclusivity. Evaluate every aspect of your workplace diversity from hiring to performance reviews, promotions, and benefits.
According to the Harvard Business Review, diverse companies experience innovation resulting in a higher revenue of at least 19% and 2.34 times cash flow per employee.
It’s Your Outcome is committed to equipping companies with the tools to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
As a job seeker, are you more likely to apply to a company that implements diverse recruiting, hiring, and promotion initiatives?
